Long Haul Destinations I’d Love to Visit

In my life so far, I’ve been lucky enough to visit both long haul and short haul destinations, but there are plenty on my travel bucket list that need ticking off!

Vancouver, Canada, 2015

I’ve mentioned on my blog before the places in Europe I’d one day like to visit, places I’d like to visit in the Autumn, and places I’d like to visit in the Winter – and so I thought it was about time I talked about some of the faraway places I’d like to go.

I learned a lot about the history of Vietnam in my high school history lessons, and I’ve been intrigued by the country ever since.
Vietnam has such a rich history, beautiful landscapes, and interesting culture to visit – this was an easy destination to put on the top of my list!

I’ve visited the United States before, as I have family living in California. I’ve so far visited seven states, leaving me forty-three to check off my list.
One state in particular I’d love to visit is Alaska, as it seems so completely different to anywhere else in the US.
Alaska has such a beautiful landscape and so many wildlife-spotting opportunities, including my all-time favourite: whales.

I’ve included Japan in my previous lists, however I am so desperate to visit that I can’t leave it off this one.
My dad has travelled to Japan a few times before, and he thinks I’d absolutely love it there, and I think he’s right! Japan seems so different to anywhere else I’ve ever been, and I’m so intrigued by all the unique things it has to offer – from the Snow Monkeys, to the temples, to Mount Fuji, and to the bustling city of Tokyo; just to name a few.

My parents visited Cuba a few years ago and had the most amazing time. Since their visit, and since working in a travel agents, I’ve come to learn a lot about Cuba and what it has to offer, and it’s quickly made its way high up on my list!
I can’t wait to get the chance to visit Cuba one day, as I’d love to explore Havana, lounge on Varadero beach, see the Saturno Caves, and experience their history!

The Bahamas
I’m not a particularly beachy person – I’m much happier to explore culture-rich cities and keep busy when I’m on holiday, but I’d love to visit the Bahamas.
One particular thing I’d love to see is the Pigs in Exuma, as I think that’s such a unique opportunity, and who wouldn’t love swimming with pigs?

As you can imagine, this is only the tiniest insight into the places I’d love to visit, as it would be impossible to list them all!

What long haul destinations are on your list? Have you been to any of the ones I’ve mentioned?
