My All-Time Favourite Apps

I spend a significant amount of time glued to my phone, and though a considerable portion of that is spent scrolling mindlessly through social media, there are many other things that catch my interest.

I’ve downloaded and deleted so many apps since getting a phone in middle school, and so I’ve definitely found a few favourites along the way which I thought I would share, as some of them I could not live without!

This is in no way sponsored – all opinions are completely my own, just because I love these apps.

Canva
“Create beautiful designs & professional graphics in seconds. Share your design via any social media, email or text”
This is an app I discovered when I started this blog, and it has been a lifesaver for adding design elements to my posts. I use Canva for all my blog post headers and for the Pinterest pins at the bottom of my posts, but it has so many other uses too!
Personally, I only use the free version of this app as it’s enough for me at the moment, but there are some premium options too.

Clue
“Track your menstrual cycle with Clue, the #1 doctor-recommended free period tracker app built in collaboration with top health researchers”
Clue is an absolute must-have for anyone who wants to track their period, birth control, etc. I’ve been using this app for so long now, and it’s definitely something I’m going to be using forever.
This app allows you to track your menstrual cycle but adds in elements such as being able to track your birth control, flow, pain symptoms, mood, how much sleep you’ve had, and other things such as your hair, skin, and weight.
Clue has almost never been wrong about when I’m due on my period, and it makes it so handy for checking where you’ll be at in your cycle in case of special events, vacations, etc.

Duolingo
“The world’s most popular way to learn a language. It’s 100% free, fun and science-based”
I downloaded this app less than two weeks ago as I thought it would be a fun way of learning Spanish – and I was right.
I thought I was hopeless at picking up and learning languages, and I’ve definitely exceeded my expectations of myself thanks to Duolingo. This app really provides you with so many different ways of learning a language, and there are loads of languages to choose from too!
I also love that I can use other Duolingo features on my laptop, such as their “Stories” section.
Again, I only use the free version of this, but that’s more than enough unless you want unlimited health and offline lessons.

Google Docs
“Create, edit and collaborate with others on documents from your phone or tablet with the Google Docs app”
Google Docs is something I’ve used forever, but mainly on my laptop. It’s so handy if you don’t have access to Microsoft programmes such as Word, Powerpoint, etc as Google have their own versions for each programme.
I love that I can use Google Docs on both my laptop and my phone and have access to all the same documents, and that it saves automatically so I don’t have to worry if something goes wrong!

Pinterest
“Looking for inspiration? Whether you’re designing a home or searching for travel ideas, good ideas start on Pinterest”
I’ve always loved Pinterest as it is so versatile and gives you millions of ideas for anything you could possibly imagine.
Pinterest is the perfect resource for blogging, allowing you to pin your inspiration, share your own blog posts, and do so much more to help your blog grow.
I love that I can use Pinterest for both my blog and for my personal life – for planning my future wedding god knows how many years too early, getting inspiration for dinner recipes, planning a new wardrobe of outfits I can’t afford, and looking at designs for tattoos I’m too scared to get.
Despite the unrealistic expectations, I do love a good scroll on Pinterest.

Sleep Cycle
“Sleep Cycle is an intelligent alarm clock that tracks your sleep patterns and wakes you up in light sleep – the natural way to wake up, feeling rested and energized”
I’ve been using Sleep Cycle for probably two years now, and I loved it so much that I “invested” in the premium option for just £11.99 a year.
I always hated the standard alarm clock feature on a phone as it always woke me up abruptly and left me moody and unsettled, but Sleep Cycle wakes you up when you’re in a light phase of sleep which leaves you feeling much better.
One feature I love about Sleep Cycle is that it records when it hears snoring, and so I get the delight of proving to my boyfriend that he does in fact snore, and that it’s annoying!
Sleep Cycle tells you how much sleep you got, the quality of your sleep, and shows you a graph of your sleep/wake pattern throughout the night. It also lets you add things that may have impacted your sleep such as caffeine, exercise, stress, and the weather.

Trello
“Trello’s boards, lists, and cards enable you to organize and prioritize your projects in a fun, flexible, and rewarding way”
If, like me, you’re obsessed with lists, Trello is perfect for you. It’s a little like Pinterest in terms of being able to create different boards for your lists, and is more flexible than a standard written to do list.
I’ve used Trello for my Moving House Checklist, monthly blog post planning, a general wishlist of things I’d like to buy, and so much more – so it’s an app you can really utilise for whatever your lifestyle is, and whatever lists you may need to make!
This is another app you can use on both your phone and your laptop – and I love having that flexibility too.

Do you use any of these apps? Are there any apps you could not live without?

  1. Everyone and their mom recommends canva but I’ve never actually tried it myself! I use Photoshop for everything but I reckon this would be super handy for when I’m out and about without my laptop x

    1. Trello is such a lifesaver, and I’ve found it so so useful for organising my blog posts!
And I also use Canva on my laptop as the app isn’t as great for more complex stuff.
It’s definitely tricky sometimes with Clue but I suppose it just needs to become a habit ☺️☺️

  3. I’m a massive list-maker! If I don’t have a to-do list I am absolutely lost as I’m so forgetful! I’ll definitely be checking out Trello for organisation! Canva is also fab but I much prefer to use it on a computer as opposed to my phone – an absolute godsend for creatives! Xx
