GIFTED – Brush Fresh Co. #PlasticFreeJuly

Note – Although I was sent this product for the purpose of sharing it on my blog, all of my opinions are completely honest, and I was not paid to write this post. I would never share a product I do not fully believe in.

Earlier on in the year, I reached out to a new company I found on Instagram just before the release of their product, asking if they would send me their product for me to review on my blog.
They were very kind to do just that, and I wanted to share it with you as part of Plastic Free July!

If you don’t know, Plastic Free July is a challenge hosted by the Plastic Free Foundation to “build a global movement that dramatically reduces plastic use and improves recycling“, to achieve their ultimate goal of a world without plastic waste.

So where does Brush Fresh Co. come in?

Brush Fresh Co. are a group of Bristol-based dentists who are working to provide eco-friendly zero-waste dental products, simultaneously educating people about environmental and health matters, so they can make better choices about their dental products!

At present, Brush Fresh Co. sell their own toothpaste and toothbrushes, but it’s the toothpaste I’d like to tell you about.

I’ve said before that I’m always on the look out for new changes I can make to my lifestyle to become more sustainable and eco-friendly, but one thing I wasn’t sure of was how to reduce the plastic waste from my bathroom products, especially my toothpaste and toothbrushes.
When I stumbled upon Brush Fresh, my problem was solved. Their zero-waste toothpaste comes in a tablet form – so no plastic tubes!

At first, chewing a tablet then brushing my teeth was a strange concept, but you quickly get used to it, and it’s just as effective for brushing your teeth as toothpaste from a tube, minus the plastic waste.

But, other than the fact it’s a tablet form, what else is different?
The tablets come packaged in a fully recyclable and compostable box, which aims to eradicate the near 60 million plastic toothpaste tubes which end up in landfill per year!
They’re also super convenient for travelling, as you can simply take as many tablets as you’ll need which will save you space in your luggage, and you won’t be restricted by the liquid limits either.

Before finding Brush Fresh, I had already made the switch to bamboo toothbrushes, but as I’m on my last one, it’s about time I ordered some more, and I think I’ll be giving theirs a try this time.

For just £3.99, switching to toothpaste tablets really isn’t going to break the bank, but it is going to significantly help the environment – Brush Fresh also plant trees, support charities, and educate students on environmental issues, so what’s not to like?

If we can all make these small changes, by doing something as simple as buying toothpaste tablets instead of tubes, we’ll be removing around 24 million bits of plastic from circulation!

Huge thank you to Brush Fresh Co for sending me the toothpaste to share on my blog – I’m so glad there are more products helping our planet.

What switches have you made to a more environmentally friendly lifestyle?

  1. These sound so amazing I’ve literally just gone and purchased their three month supply with the toothbrush based on your recommendation. I know they’re going to take a little getting used to because of textures/change with being autistic, but I’m hoping I’ll be able to stick with it and it’s not too different because this looks like a super great way to be more sustainable… and it’s not too unreasonably priced, too! My order, including shipping, came to less than £15. A little more expensive than convenient things, but not too much more that it’d make me raise my eyebrows at it. Thanks for the recommendation!

      1. They accidentally forgot to include the toothbrush I ordered originally so I couldn’t use them as quickly as I had hoped, but their customer service was on it and sent me out an extra toothbrush as an apology, and gave me a 20% voucher for life, which is amazing! I’ve been using the actual products for a few days and I love them. The tablets, like you said, are something to get used to, but I’ve definitely been converted! Thanks for bringing my attention to the brand.
